Iolon Star, The Earthlings and Return to Limerick are hitting the airwaves this Saturday! 7-13!

The journey for my novels continues and now they are going to be on the radio! The UK radio station Chat and Spin will be airing the quickie interview where I got to send my novels over the airwaves and its blasting out on July 13th Saturday at 12:20 pm PST. It was a lot of fun and it did take me more than one take but only two so I am happy about it and I think they were too since they invited me back when my next science fiction novel is done!

Every Writer Loves to See This

Traveling back across the country has put a hold on me continuing to write my next novel so I have put the time I have into promoting the novels I have published before leaving to drive another 700 + miles before I am back in Nevada.

But I realized during this time not only a significant increase in Kindle Unlimited readers but also that they are reading it with lightening speed and not putting it down! That's every writer's wish, hope and dream for any novel, to grip the reader so they don't want to stop reading. So seeing that reality with Iolon Star has been really great and making this long drive across the country an extra boost of happy.

Back in the writing saddle...a sneak peek

Well everyone, I am back to writing full time and right now in the middle of my fourth chapter of my next science fiction novel. I am adjusting the chapter a bit because I love to keep the action going in all my novels. I gave the details of the first few to a few people and they were mesmerized with the story as I told it and loved it wanting more = always a good sign.

Long way to go to finish it of course but so far we have a mixture of aliens and a trio of elite human space force characters that are saving aliens. Can't say more about it just yet because there are so many writers out there and I want to keep the plot line secret so it's not heisted before I finish it.

Sales are still above average so I am pleased with that and love watching people on Kindle Unlimited go through my novels quickly which for me means they can't put it down for long. I am just 6 months into being an indie author and people are getting to know my writing which is the biggest challenge for any indie author.

I am sticking with being only available on Amazon because they are the biggest seller online of books and their support is stellar. I appreciate every single reader of my novels and am grateful to each of them. Without readers there would be no writers, no authors and you can't tell a long novel story around a campfire. So keep reading and I will keep writing so that you will enjoy getting away to another planet, another dimension of time, another world for a while.

The story continues...last chapter

For those following this story as is typical in abusive situations denial is present by those being abused. Anyone that brings it to the forefront generally is fought as being wrong because the one being abused has difficulty facing it. Shame, embarrassment, failure and other thoughts run through the mind of those being abused because they have been set up to doubt themselves and this truth by the abuser.

In my life I have met two women that lost their daughters to violent abusers and they tried everything to detach their daughters to the abusers before they met their terrible fate. The abuse I am talking about is emotional but it is still abuse.

For everyone that is dealing with abuse in a relationship you in the end must save yourself and love yourself enough to do it. It's not easy for anyone and you have to be strong but once you are out of it you will see that life is always better. Whether you have kids or not, you should not stay in an abusive relationship. It is not real love and never will be though most abusers will tell you they love you deeply especially after abuse has happened.

Life is long, but not long enough to sustain abuse in a relationship. If you are experiencing abuse in your relationship get out as a better life without abuse awaits you. You will be more successful, happier and realize fully that you are worthy of happiness. If you have kids they will be happier too and be grateful to you for saving them.

I being someone who experienced it in my own life and witnessed it recently with a loved one have done what I can and stood up against it. I am now in the backlash of my dear one being mad that I have said anything at all about it. But I know the truth of abuse and know I did the right thing. Now it's up to them to save themselves and hopefully they will before they waste too many years trying to make a bad relationship into a good one and that of course will never happen as it never will be with abusive relationships.

An Explosion of Epic Porportions

After weeks of helping family life exploded into a reality that no one wants to see. It felt good every step of the way doing what I knew as the right thing, a good deed, for all the right reasons. If life was simple, outside of tearing time away from my writing career, it would have been a fairy tale existence. Then a dark truth appeared, first slowly in small ways and the kind of ways you shrug and say nothing because you aren't sure or you don't want to see that or it's just not enough to react. Finally the bomb comes, a great big huge nuclear explosion of truth that hit me in the gut so hard I am trying to recover from it still.
Abuse is happening and that abuse is hurting too many dear hearts to me and I did what I had to do, I stood up against it, said no to it and now I am hoping the one that really needs to put an end to it will. Abuse isn't pretty, funny, it isn't clever, it is a great darkness that needs courage and strength to escape. I am only hoping that the ones that need to escape it have that strength. I can't do it for them, they have to do it themselves. I can only show them what you do when that same abuse is directed at me, stand up and say no to it and show them the truth of it.
I am sticking around to remain a support even though part of me wants to run away from it now. But I won't,  I will stay strong and help by staying around, which the abuser doesn't want of course. Writing is my passion so I am returning full time to writing while I am hoping being a guiding light can break my dear ones free.

The Brutal Truth

As much as I want my author life to be ad hoc and unrelated to my own efforts to getting my books to readers but I have been hung up helping dear family. But I wouldn't change a thing because it is joyful to help and it is important and valiant. If you have a chance to do good go do it. It will take a sacrifice of some kind, but what you get back from it is beyond your dreams. But soon I will have more time to get to my next book that I have already started.

The Struggle is Real

It's Friday and it's been a while since I sat down and started writing my next novel. Not because I don't want to, not because I don't have the inspiration, but because moving across the country and driving over 2000 miles leaves you too tired to write and I'm still in recovery.

I have a great idea for my next and science fiction is the definite path since the idea involving genetics is in that genre. I hope to get started soon on it and maybe just doing this post will get me there. I hope so since writing is my life and I remain forever Indie.

Thanks to all those who have been reading my novels and if you could leave a review of the story you read you would help me in the struggle that is very real for every writer.  Writers from big publishing houses have the advantage of big time presses ready and willing to review whatever book they are given. Indie authors rely on the public's graciousness in providing a review. So don't forget to leave a review for Indie authors including me. :)

I'm not naming names

As I dig deeper into the online world experience being an indie author I realized the truly bizarre is going on. But I'm not naming names because if I do apparently those companies are going to swoop in, read it, judge it and decide my fate. If they don't like what I've posted even if it's the mildest of rants, there will be a negative affect. I will be punished.

When I first heard this I didn't believe that any company had people behind a desk somewhere looking at everything online that mentions their name. Weren't they just busy doing whatever that business does that got them to success? Their product got them there, not anything else.

In every relationship including business relationships there are the ups and down  Nothing doesn't have that experience in some way or another when it's a relationship extended over time. But if we don't get to vent, we don't get to complain, we don't get to speak out, without being punished by these companies that is just bizarre.

But it's true and so incredibly true that I even went as far as communicating with one company through an unconnected forum. They responded by reacting to my posts by making a change within their own platform that I referred to in my post. I thanked them for the fix in the forum and it's been smooth sailing ever since. However, recently and last week, I commented on something unfair that a company is doing and it's not even debatable.

Okay I am in the game, so I must comply because my novels deserve their best shot into the universe of readers. So I'm not naming names here,  I'm just venting about the bizarre reality in the online indie world that I live in.

The Organic Writing Path Where Numbers Mean Something Different

Today I had a brief conversation with a writer friend and told him about my results on Iolon Star during its free download period. He tipped his head and I knew what it meant, he was thinking "that's not viral!".

He has been writing, and he is a good writer but hasn't published anything yet and we don't exist within the same generations. So I let him know, based on what I do, an organic free book campaign on my new release that consists of purely social media platforms and forums and only a heartbeat of notice, not 15 week planning with a giant budget, my results are above the average.

I am happy with that and he was confused by my happiness.

When you go organically where big money doesn't exist the little guy story begins. But that little guy story is different than most of us want to accept but I accept the challenge because I must.

I have seen plenty of come and goes, bloggers, writers and the challenge is extreme but the choice for me isn't a choice. I write because I have always have and heck I am on a writing hiatus/vacation and still writing and launching my latest novel.

An Indie Author 3 months later

Well everyone it's been a whole three months since I launched my new career as an indie author. I just released my fourth novel Iolon Star this week and currently on a needed novel writing hiatus. I am about to move across the country and I'd rather not start another novel until after I move and the ruckus is over.

Editing Madness

I finished my latest story, a science fiction novella. Sorry I haven’t visited here for a bit but I have been deep into that edit.
I wrote an adult science fiction and right now I am in the wonder what will happen phase of this writer experience, while I edit. Can a science fiction novella that has no humans, no one from earth involved, satisfy science fiction fans? I’m hoping so but my other science fiction novel is still rocking so I am confident sci fi fans will like this story too.
When I finish the edit on this one it will be my fourth published novel and I have so many short stories up now that even when I look at it I say, “hey I am a writer” as if I didn’t know that before? Madness is part of each of us and we all know it. I accept that, what do you do with it?
But that process of editing despite the madness of it, results in changes that enhances the story so more will understand not misunderstand. Some will always misunderstand it is an inevitable reality. But I, as all writers do, write with twisted fervor to achieve the impossible despite reality and that is a madness in and of itself.
I look up at the clock, it’s 4pm I don’t want to go back to editing, back to that intense focus on each and every sentence. I am going to tell myself I am done for the day. I did a chapter and that takes me almost a whole day so 4pm sounds like a good time to stop.

The Crazies that hide within

Okay so let's start from the start, you want to be a writer and that alone puts you in the crazy section of our world society unless you what? Make it big? Writing is as bizarre as the ancient pics carved in stone. The Internet has expanded the contribution to our civilizations intensily, which is good. Who wants to hear from the few when they can pick from the many? Too many? Cream always floats to the top, don't worry. 

Once upon a time there were a few cave people, let's be real no one knows if it was a man or woman who carved the pics in old stone, all we know is someone did it. Let's just go with we are here and if you and I are here that means that a whole lot of people over a whole lot of time had to not only survive but have a baby and care for that baby well enough so it would grow up and have more babies, so you could be here today.

Okay so here we are so far long and our online community has expanded our cave drawings exponentially where ultimately everyone has a voice, a message, they can send out to the world. No holds barred, damn the torpedoes and full steam ahead!

Now the only question is how do you handle that? I say take a break from what the 1% in the literary and mainstream critic world has "decided" through critics what you should read. I say support indie authors and explore the universe of cave drawings that have expanded through indie authors who no one controls the message, the dialogue, the story you hear, read, experience.

There is no greater liberty and freedom then choice and the expansion of it because of liberty as long as liberty is what the end goal is beautiful. So get out there and enjoy your beautiful life that took a whole lot of people being strong enough to ultimately get you to you.
